A Night of Unity Against Childhood Cancer Fundraiser

Wow, what a successful event! On May 9th, Curt & Kathy Johnson hosted a fundraiser entitled “A Night of Unity Against Childhood Cancer”, with proceeds benefiting Childhood Cancer Community. Curt and Kathy are one of Childhood Cancer Community’s families, having served as volunteers in many capacities with our organization over the years. They joined Childhood Cancer Community when their son, Connor, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma (brain cancer) at the age of thirteen. This past Fall, Connor celebrated the milestone of being cancer free for 10 years.

The event welcomed everyone to a beautiful evening filled with great food, wonderful music, fun raffle prizes, shared personal childhood cancer stories, and more. During the evening, our dining tables were graced with the photos of many of our children who have left us way to soon. We featured 34 precious souls who are immensely missed by their families and all who knew them.

We’d like to thank Judy Braatz and Ron Hanson for serving as our emcees for the evening. Judy presented a wonderful program, and Ron did a great job bringing humor to the evening as each of the raffle prize winners were announced.

Also, a huge thank you to all of our raffle prize donors! We had over 70 community members/business who donated, making it a very successful evening. And finally, a very special thank you to all of our attendees and donors whose efforts helped the event raise a resounding $6,500!

We invite you to click here to see a video of the evening set to music.
